Misir Merdanov: “The situation on teacher-pupil ratio in Azerbaijan is very bad”
Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. The situation on teacher-pupil ratio in Azerbaijan is very bad, said Minister of Education Misir Merdanov at the Board Meeting on the results of teacher recruitment in 2012-2013.
Minister said that recently, the teacher-pupil ratio fell to 1:8 from 1:10: “This is one of the issues that the education community thinks about, it was even underlined at the parliament as an important issue during discussion of the draft budget. Teacher-pupil ratio is equal to 1:16 in many countries. We must think more attentively and find solution on elimination of this situation. Our main goal is to rise the teacher-pupil ratio to 1:16”.
