Azerbaijan to complete digital TV switchover today


Azerbaijan will complete the switch from analogue to digital TV broadcasting throughout the country on Dec. 20.

 

Analogue broadcasting will be ceased in the country’s Shirvan, Salyan, Neftchala, Hajigabul, Imishli, Beylagan, Fuzuli, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Lankaran, Masalli, Yardimli, Lerik, Astara districts today.

 

Sixty-five TV transmitters available for analogue broadcasting in 10 radio and TV stations will be switched off in the aforementioned districts.

 

On 1 November 2016, Azerbaijan’s National Television Radio Council (NTRC) began to apply digital broadcasting in the country’s Baku city and the Absheron Peninsula. Analogue broadcasting was ceased in Shamakhi, Gobustan, Siyazan, Shabran, Khizi, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz on December 1 and in Aghsu, Ismayilli, Kurdamir, Zardab, Saatli, Sabirabad, Agjabedi,Aghdam, Ujar, Ganja, Samukh, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Goygol, Shamkir, Aghstafa, Gazakh, Tovuz, Terter, Naftalan, Barda, Goranboy, Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Agdash, Goychay, Gabala, Oghuz, Shaki, Zagatala, Balakan, Gakh on 10 December 2016.
