Police forces of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s detached riot police regiment have detained a Belarusian citizen, identified as Ilyevskiy Sergei Timofeyevich, after he attempted to enter the ventilation tube of Baku Metro in the Nasimi district of Baku. He was caught trying to cut the iron bars there.

The Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a joint statement to APA that the incident happened around 1:30am March 25. Found at the scene are a key used in the subway, a pair of gloves, a headlamp, two ropes of different lengths, 10 paint cans, 12 caps of paint spray cans, a Nikon digital camera, a Sony head camera. Police also found on him photographs of Tbilisi and Yerevan subway stations, schemes of those stations and those of Baku Metro, a cell phone, and money.
