Azerbaijani State Security Service prevents illegal distribution of ecstasy

Azerbaijan’s State Security Service prevented the distribution of a large volume of MDMA, a psychotropic substance also known as ecstasy, smuggled into the country, the State Security Service said in a statement on March 17.

In an operation conducted by the State Security Service, Azerbaijani citizens Alakbar Mammadov and Shamistan Mustafayev were detained on suspicion of smuggling a large amount of MDMA pills into the country and illegally distributing them among young people, said the statement.

A large amount of MDMA pills and effective drug “Pregabalin” were seized during the investigation.
