Turkish businessman smuggling ecstasy and other drugs to Azerbaijan detained - PHOTOSESSION

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Employees of Main Drug Enforcement Department of the Ministry Internal Affairs seized a large amount of a range of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The Interior Ministry’s press service told APA that the Main Department received operational information that a group of persons are smuggling and selling drugs and psychotropic substances in the country. As a result of operations, 35-year-old Turkish citizen Atila Boran was detained in Narimanov district. More than 40 kilograms of cocaine, 30 packages of synthetic bonsai and 50 ecstasy pills were seized from him and his house.
 
The detainee said that he had been engaged in business in Baku for 5 years. He began selling drugs last year. Atila Boran admitted that he had repeatedly smuggled various drugs from Turkey to Azerbaijan along with his partner, 28-year-old Khatai district resident Ramin Ismayilov.
 
Amid the search operations, the police detained Ramin Ismayilov too. The detainee had on him 15 grams of cocaine and 30 ecstasy pills, which were found and seized by police as a material evidence.
 
Thorough investigations discovered that Atilla Boran is one who had made the proposal of bringing narcotics to Azerbaijan and sale them. Ramin Ismayilov have several times paid Atilla Boran and sent him to Turkey to bring cocaine, bonsai as well as ecstasy. Narcotics were brought to Baku through secretive manners and sold in the city. They then distributed the money among themselves.
 
A criminal case has been launched under the related article of the Criminal Code. The investigation over the detainees is continuing.
