Senate approves Richard Morningstar’s candidacy for US Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. On June 19, US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations approved the candidacy of Richard Morningstar for the post of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, APA reports citing the official website of the Senate.

In line with Morningstar, the US approved its ambassadors in 10 countries.

According to procedure, the ambassador, confirmed by the Senate, leaves for the appointed country after the oath at the US Department of State.

Morningstar is expected to arrive in Azerbaijan in the coming weeks.

Note that, on April 27 this year U.S. President Barack Obama nominated Richard Morningstar, who current serves as the Secretary of State’s Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, for the ambassador to Azerbaijan. US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations approved this candidacy on June 19.
