State Committee chairman urges diaspora organizations to protest against anti-Azerbaijan campaign

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The Baku 2015 first-ever European Games will be remembered as one of the most significant events in our country’s history. This event is of historical importance, and we think the fact that Azerbaijan is hosting these games proves that the country has high influence and is trusted in the international community. But regrettable, we have to say the campaign to discredit our country and state is intensifying and exceed all diplomatic ethics as the European Games approach,” Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov told APA on June 11.

According to Ibrahimov, some political circles – urged by the Armenian lobby and diaspora – displeased with achievements made by Azerbaijan are making every effort to minimize the significance of this historical event and by this means curb a very huge and favorable opportunity of propaganda emerged for Azerbaijan.

The committee chairman said a number of events and presentations are organized in many countries in connection with the first European Games in Baku, urging Azerbaijanis residing abroad to protest against the anti-Azerbaijani campaign.

“We call on all our countrymen throughout the world to combine their efforts against such a biased campaign launched against the Azerbaijani people and state. Azerbaijani diaspora organizations should express protest against this campaign in accordance with the legislation of the countries where they operate. I believe all our countrymen, regardless of their social status and activity, will combine their efforts against this campaign and support their native land on the eve of this historical event,” he added.
