Sofia conference ends with adoption of declaration

Baku – APA. The conference, held under the auspices of Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, has come to an end in Sofia.

Attended by 22 political leaders, the two-day conference had been organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, with support from Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Work with Diaspora.

Participants at the conference discussed new visions on cooperation and neighborhood.

The conference came to a close with the adoption of a declaration representing the general opinion of participants.

Authors of the declaration think that the UN and the European Union as well as the international community including regional actors are incapable of resolving conflicts and eliminating their consequences.

The document also mentions the situation in disputed regions and achievements made by European states in the area of tolerance.

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, who is also the chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center’s Council of Trustees and a member of the center’s board of directors, also attended the event.
